J.S. Quality & Performance Improvement, LLC is a minority, service-disabled veteran-owned company that specializes in performance improvement and education in quality improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean Six Sigma, and Quality Management
The Owner/CEO, Jesse Stevenson served 28 years with the U.S. Coast Guard. During the latter part of his military career, he obtained a Master’s degree in Quality Systems Management from the National Graduate School (NGS) out of Falmouth Massachusetts. It was here where he was first introduced to Six Sigma, and that was the path-altering moment. That is what sent him on the continuous improvement journey. Once retired from the Coast Guard, his focus shifted to continuous improvement using Six Sigma. Jesse earned his ASQ Six Sigma Black Belt certification, began teaching Six Sigma courses, and has held jobs as a Quality Director, and Process Analyst, even starting a Brown Bag University teaching co-workers tools of continuous improvement. He has taught over a thousand students since 2008, including Universities, Community Colleges, and Industry, guiding some students through various projects. Other credentials include ASQ ConnEx expert, qualified to teach ASQ courses in Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and Quality 101. Other ASQ certifications include ASQ Certified Quality Improvement Associate and ASQ Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence. In addition to his Masters's in Quality, he has earned an MBA from McKendree University, and currently All But Dissertation (ABD) for his Doctorate in Business Administration in Quality Systems Management. He was awarded (by his local ASQ St. Louis Section), The Waldo A. Vezeau Award For Technical Achievement in recognition of his outstanding achievements in the field of Quality, and awarded the 2018 Adjunct Professor of the Year at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.
